Ashley J. Cooper, PhD, ANP-C

Ashley J. Cooper, PhD, ANP-C, is a postdoctoral research associate with the Action Research Collaborative (ARC), and the Leak Research Group (LRG) in the Division of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University and the Division of General Internal Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine.

Dr. Cooper’s research uses an intersectional lens to examine the complex relationships among psychosocial stress, the social determinants of health, and cardiometabolic risk in Black women and girls in the United States. Her previous work includes explorations of the role of the workplace on weight status and stress-management augmented behavioral weight loss interventions for Black women.

In her current research with ARC and LRG, Dr. Cooper is working on family-based interventions for Black women and girls at risk for diabetes, along with various projects in nutrition equity and policy to reduce disparities in cardiometabolic risk across the life course.
